Artist

Sharon Sieben
Mesa, Arizona

Sharon Sieben prefers working in a “loose, fluid technique” and finds inspiration in the most unexpected things. Her parents bought her a set of oil paints when she was ten years old and it sparked her love of art. She especially admires the work of Impressionist artists such as Paul Cezanne because of how they broke tradition. When she’s not making art, she enjoys reading and playing classical guitar and piano. She currently lives in Arizona. Fun fact: she has a parrot that totally rules the house and is more spoiled than any of her children.

I actually purchased Flappers II, not Marilyn as pictured below. Thank you. Love it but need to know how to best preserve it.

Dear Sharon: I purchased Flappers ll from you and absolutely love it! I brought it in for framing with glass to cover it, but now I am worried that the glass will damage the artwork. The picture is behind a custom mat but worried the painting will stick to the glass or will not have enough "breathing room." Please advise on how I should best protect this awesome piece of art.

Sharon, I just wanted to chime in and compliment you on your really cool paintings. I'm a beginner myself and really like your style and work! Take Care, Shawn from Minnesota

Thank you for the kind comments. I don't currently have any finished nudes available (other that what is already on the Ugallery site). I do have one in process 24" x 24" and a primed canvas 30" x 30" which can become a work done in similar style and pose. Would love to contribute to you bedroom decor. Please let me know how I can help.

I absolutely love Viewpoint. It would be perfect for our newly decorated bedroom. Do you have anything similar but twice the size? It's beautiful!

This week launches the first piece in my new "Summer Garden" series; consisting of flower compositions in oil on 36" x 18" stretched canvas. "Poppy Fields" will soon be followed by "Blue Poppies" and after that.....?

Comments About This Piece

When I am creating figurative work, I usually identify a mood or expression that translates into the color and gestures of the form.

This is a mixed media piece created by applying acrylic gel, crayon, collage materials, and oil pigments on paper. The paper is mounted on a cradled wood panel with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Mixed media artwork

Mixed media refers to an artwork that is created using several different types of traditional art media, for example oil paint, ink and collage. The specific media used for each mixed media piece on UGallery is listed in the notes section.

One-of-a-kind

A one-of-a-kind artwork is a unique piece handmade by the artist. There is only one in existence. The work may be part of a series, however, the piece itself is unlike any other. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
