Leslie Morgan
San Francisco, California

Leslie Morgan was raised in the middle of a Texas desert, 600 miles away from the nearest ocean. As a kid she lived for trips to the public pool and dreamed of "tropical islands, pirate boats and sea creatures." Her works reflect her longing for a cooler, more forgiving nature - environments that delicately and weightlessly ebb and flow.

The piece is gorgeous and I am hanging it over a bath ....The perfect theme !! I love the metal base and the worn, slightly rusty appearance. Thank you Leslie.

Hello, I bought and just received "There's No Getting Over It." I love it and love your work. I can't explain why that particular piece spoke to me, but it did. I follow your work and plan to purchase more in the future. Such creative imagination. Thanks!

I've officially entered the YouTube space, my friends, and while my website may not be Wordpress, I'm going to go ahead and say I'm in the blogosphere too with my first blog post at ! All this is so that I can properly introduce you to my new collection "People Are Dogs" as well as keep (both of us) a little better in touch. I plan to keep the website's blog up-to-date with my work and if I don't, I welcome you to harass me on my (brand new) Facebook business page: - Just click the "Like" button if you want to keep in touch! For the "People Are Dogs" collection, I used acrylic tinting and a "heady" switcheroo to turn around these turn of the century, stylized portraits of people and their favorite family members, their dogs. Not only do I love playing with the pet-to-owner dynamic but I'm also big on creative reuse, particularly with old photographs, which tend to speak to me in a very satirical tone. As for that head

Comments About This Piece

From my series, Burnt Wood, a brightly colored nautical piece using an antique toy boat. Playful but intriguing, nostalgic yet current!

This piece was made with acrylic paint, a toy boat, Italian plaster, and wood blocks on a cradled wood panel with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

Mixed media artwork

Mixed media refers to an artwork that is created using several different types of traditional art media, for example oil paint, ink and collage. The specific media used for each mixed media piece on UGallery is listed in the notes section.

A one-of-a-kind artwork is a unique piece handmade by the artist. There is only one in existence. The work may be part of a series, however, the piece itself is unlike any other. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
