I believe it is acid-free but in all honesty I don't remember. I purchased the paper some years ago. Sorry. It does have a gloss finish.

Hi Claudia, thanks for the compliment. That's one of my favorite pieces too. It's about as thick as archival or watercolor paper, maybe a little more. It's just standard posterboard available in any craft store. It would probably be best to frame it or perhaps mount it in some way. Hope to hear from you soon. Alan

The moment I saw this painting on the site I loved it and & I knew where it will fit. Now, it is the exact place & looks great. On the wall, it looks much better than online, esp the depth of the colors and size of painting. Great work from Alan, I became one of his fan's for sure.
