AK Daves won't tell you much about her work - she wants everyone to experience her work directly, without being told what to think. That said, she will tell you about her love for color. She says "color affects appetite, vision, sexuality, design, art, emotions and myriad aspects of life that impact the very psychology of people. There is rarely a point I try to get across, a statement I try to make, or a system of signs I use to give message or meaning. I am simply interested in the use of color and aesthetic freedom."
AK was born in Mobile and now lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her cat, Mickey. She has a BA in art history from Sweet Briar College and works as a Paralegal by day.
The original "Duh!?" is a 20" x 16" mixed media piece made of oil paint, oil pastel and pencil on canvas.
