I'm excited to join UGallery and post my work for display! I've been developing these techniques for a few years, and learning new things about the the materials I work with after every piece. Although I graduated from RISD in the Department of Architecture, much of my coursework was focused on Fine Art with an emphasis on material experimentation and building abstract compositions. For me, these paintings deal with issues of materiality and texture.

Mixed media refers to an artwork that is created using several different types of traditional art media, for example oil paint, ink and collage. The specific media used for each mixed media piece on Ugallery is listed in the notes section.

Composite board is a thin, flat panel of compressed wood. If not already framed, most composite board work will require framing.

notes: A combination of drip and spray painting techniques. The green formation occurred due to a chemical reaction between Shellac and Acetone; no green paint was applied to this work. In this way chemical processes inherent to the materials inform the aesthetic characteristics of this piece. This piece is rustoleum, acetone and shellac on composite board.
