Composed of gels, texture medium, interference paint and acrylics.
My new collection of paintings stems from my fascination with the ruins of Italy. I have utilized the multi textured appearance of the ruins in my paintings. In addition, I tried to capture the stunning, dazzling colors of Italy and especially the Amalfi Coast. By layering surfaces and color, I attempt to reveal a geometry with a distinctive modernist flair. Insinuations of the architecture, both present and past, of Southern Italy’s coastal villages and ruins emerge from my abstracted imagery, producing a dreamlike mood that does not reside in a specific time.
