My paintings tend to be one of two things, either quite abstract or very geometric. Sometimes there is a mix of the two. It can be difficult to see in pictures, but my paintings often have a great deal of texture. I use many different techniques that involve something other than a brush. However, I always feel in control of the paint.
I am an impulsive painter who paints on an irregular basis. I wait until an emotion prompts me to put something on canvas. Typically, I have an idea of the direction I am headed with any given piece but I never see the exact end product in my mind. I feel this would ruin the experience. Instead I feed off of what is already on the canvas and I frequently get ideas that may or may not change the direction of the piece.
