I am interested in portraiture and still life using available light. My friends are the main influence in my work. Many of them are photographers, and we help each other with the creative process. I learned a great deal about the basics of composition and lighting from my first photography professor Bill Rapf. His teachings played an essential role in developing my own style and technique.
My art has a broad range of motivations. I enjoy photographing everything from weddings and concerts to still life scenes and portraits. Receiving my first digital camera proved to be an extremely important and fast paced time in my growth as a young artist. I honed my skills with long exposure and I refined my knowledge of the basics such as depth of field and aperture control.
