| Within my most recent body of work, my paintings depict strange moments of animal interaction that describe oscillation between survival instincts and extreme emotional responses that seem to go against modes of survival. Conveying truths and delusions about the wild, this work attempts to identify and evaluate the complex and contradictory nature of human/animal relations through anthropomorphic narratives. Entangled in their own internal and external dilemmas, I rely on animal body language as a means of identifying and reconsidering the possibility of their emotional needs and desires as parallel to our own. My work also proposes the possibility of this parallel through analyzing and evaluating what these interactions could mean. Through representational, symbolic, and formal strategies, this body of work becomes a device for the viewer to reflect on their own struggles, as well as re-evaluate their relationship with the wild.

K Stevenson,
Thanks for writing. These structures are metaphoric creations that I identify with as existing as a corporeal being, as a surrogate for the human being. They are seemingly empty, weathered, and unstable. They are the finality of something ending or something lost, but they also have a deep desire to be filled. They describe the complexities of the human condition...of love and loss, hope and despair, anticipation and disappointment, lust and loneliness.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I hope I brought some insight into that piece for you.

Can you tell me more about "I never lost sight of you"? Are the structures real or a representation of something,etc...
Thanks

Hello, yes "I Have A Feeling..." sold the other day. Thank you for your kind words and interest though. I have a piece still available..."How Does One Fall Asleep When One Is Without" that was made at the same time as that work, it has a similar feel and is the same size...if you are interested, it is my last painting left of that series.

Hi,
I just saw a beautiful painting of yours yesterday, the one titled something like "We are forgetting how to feel"...with 2 bears. Though I see it's gone now. I'm assuming it's sold? Can you let me know? Thanks so much.

Extremely powerful work. Your use of colors is absolutely beautiful in a very bleak way. "Hanging in the Wait of Fading Echoes..." is my favorite.
