You paint cumulus clouds very similar to the way that I paint them. I was pleased to find a painting that I can compare mine to. It gives me an idea of what my paintings could be worth. I have sold several in the past for $50. 1/15/2015 | 8:04 AM

Hello Laurie, where can I find other artwork from you. I admired your clouds very much and it suggests to me that you have done other great works. Where can I find them.

Thanks so much for your kind comments about my clouds! It means so much to me! It keeps me painting. Have a great day! Laura

The painting of the clouds is wonderful. I have a problem making clouds look real. You seem to have mastered it.

Comments About This Piece

I love the feeling of peace that comes from being above the clouds. For this piece, I was inspired by an early morning flight over the French Alps. It was a peaceful, surreal moment. It reminded me of how small our problems can be if we change our perspective and get above the clouds. This work is unframed, so that it can be customized to fit any decor.

Gouache painting

Gouache, pronounced gwäSH (and also spelled guache), is a type of paint consisting of pigment suspended in water. Gouache has a consistency similar to watercolor, and is commonly diluted with water before it is applied to the painting surface. However, gouache is heavier and more opaque, with greater reflective qualities than watercolor paints. Gouache is often used by commercial artists to create design work, such as illustrations, posters, and comics.

Paper is a very common surface for all types of artwork, including photography, printmaking, drawing and painting. Art paper varies in thickness and color. Read the notes section to learn more about the paper used to create this artwork. If not noted as framed, most paper artwork will require framing.

A one-of-a-kind artwork is a unique piece handmade by the artist. There is only one in existence. The work may be part of a series, however, the piece itself is unlike any other. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
