I once read that landscape paintings are the most popular subject for art collectors to buy. After reading this, I pondered why this is so. Many times, I have seen a painted landscape of a favorite place that did not quite capture the awe and wonder of actually being there. I believe the best an artist can do is capture the gestalt or essence of the landscape, but they cannot actually take you there. However, I have often noticed how a near or completely abstract work of art can transform the room in which it is hung, thus creating a new sort of landscape—a more cerebral one that is ready for interpretation.
I am interested in how much and what type of information a viewer needs in order to "see" a landscape. My art would look a lot different if I did not own a computer that has the Internet. I am a hoarder of information—I feel the need to download and listen to every song that has ever been written, see every painting that has ever been painted, and read every book that has ever been written. I cannot get enough, yet there is no way that my brain can remember all of this information. So I try to create cohesiveness from this jumble of ideas.
In the end, however, one can say that what I have created is in fact a landscape. This landscape is based on the beauty I have seen in nature, dreams, and the vastness of the information super highway.

I have been admiring your art for quite a while, and to my surprise my boyfriend got one for me!
I was extremely happy with it, came perfectly packaged and looks fantastic! Plus I loved that it was framed and ready to hang.
