Carlos Gamez de Francisco
Louisville, Kentucky

Growing up in Cuba, Carlos Gamez de Francisco quickly fell in love with making art. He attended both fine art and visual art school, where he received the opportunity to study with famed Cuban artist Cosme Proenza. His formal training included comprehensive knowledge of visual arts, dance, music, wardrobe and performance arts. As an artist, Carlos represents social and historical issues that affect humans’ reactions because of their social, economic, geographic, and political environment. Over the last 5 years, Carlos’s art has been exhibited in several states, and internationally in Cuba, Luxembourg, Italy, and Spain, as well as at art shows such as Art Palm Beach, Art Hamptons and Scope Miami. Fun fact: Because of Carlos’s support of the arts community in Louisville, where he now lives, Mayor Greg Fischer gave him the key to the city.
