Artist

Ron Klotchman
Marina Del Rey, California

Ron Klotchman approaches his work intuitively and is always in search of inspiration. By painting with quick, loose brushstrokes or a palette knife, he creates dynamic compositions. His current body of work presents “abstracted figures which tell a compelling narrative.” With each work, he hopes to display the unique energy that characterizes his life. Ron is a self-taught artist who once worked as an actor before getting a job in the corporate world. After some soul searching, he decided to create art full time. When he’s not making art, you can find him playing guitar or reading at the beach.

Thanks so much! I have taught in the recent past. Mostly helping artists loosen up and paint intuitively with what moves them as I do. Lately I've been busy with painting and gallery shows.

I purchased this piece for my husband for Christmas. It exceeded my expectations. It is a lovely addition to our growing collection. BTW, he loved the painting and hung it immediately.

Comments About This Piece

Two were together, bound by love. They were determined to go their own way, avoiding the strife and disharmony of the others. The others were wary, guarded. They feared the presence of the others and were glad they might abandon the quest. But they had all arrived at the appointed place as they swore they would. It was here, that things would finally change. Even if they were not all together, their goals were the same. It was to be "The Last Pilgrimage." This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

Acrylic painting

Acrylic paint was made commercially available in the 1950’s. Acrylic is a fast drying paint that can be diluted with water, but becomes water-resistant when dry. Acrylics can be applied in thin layers and washes to resemble watercolor paints, or they can be applied in thick layers, built up for texture. The main difference between oil and acrylic paint is the drying time. Oil dries slowly, allowing more time to blend colors and apply glazes. Artists who use acrylic paints typically work faster than those who use oils. Additionally, acrylics offer more versatility and are often used for mixed media work. Artists can mix different materials into the paint, such as sand or rice. They can also apply other media on top of the dried acrylic, such as pastel or pen.

Stretched canvas

Canvas is a heavy-duty fabric used as a painting surface. When a canvas artwork is labeled stretched, it means the canvas has been wrapped around a wooden frame (the ''stretcher''). Stretched canvases typically do not require framing.

One-of-a-kind

A one-of-a-kind artwork is a unique piece handmade by the artist. There is only one in existence. The work may be part of a series, however, the piece itself is unlike any other. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
