| about ugallery |
| Here at Ugallery, we love being surrounded by art. We think you will too. |
Stephen, Greg, and I are young entrepreneurs who live for art. We met while studying business and art history at the
University of Arizona. For a class project, we ventured to solve a fundamental problem in the art business - how can promising
artists connect with people looking to buy reasonably priced, original artwork? Our solution was Ugallery.com, a virtual gallery
that does that and more. Upon graduation in 2006, we decided to take the leap and turn Ugallery into a reality.
In the four years Ugallery has been in business, we have sold art to nearly every state and a dozen countries. We have been
featured in articles by The Wall Street Journal and Art in America, and exhibited at some of the nation's biggest art fairs.
Ugallery is now open to submissions by artists of all backgrounds, our team has expanded, and we continue to go to work everyday with
smiles on our faces.
As we look forward to our fifth year in the online art space, we invite you to join our ever-growing gallery and community.
Artfully Yours,
Alex Farkas

ALEX FARKAS gallery director
|
|
Alex brings a unique and slightly off-center
aesthetic to the gallery. His love of art traces back to his hometown Jerome, a tiny arts community
in northern Arizona. Alex grew up creating sculpture in his uncle's woodworking studio and
learning about the art business in his mother's gallery. In college, he trained his eye by
travelling the world to experience first-hand the art he studied. Alex is passionate about
working with artists to navigate the gallery world and connect with patrons. He holds degrees
in Art History and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona, and currently lives in San
Francisco. |
|
STEPHEN TANENBAUM operations director
|
|
Stephen has a passion for the art of the start up. He founded his first
company, Bunkpal, at the age of 18 and pursued his love of business at the University of Arizona, where he earned a
degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Stephen keeps Ugallery on the cutting edge by overseeing the gallery's online
presence and running business behind the scenes. Originally from Atlanta, Stephen now lives in New York City. When he's
not working, you might spot him strolling MoMA - he's got a soft spot for Takashi Murakami - or playing softball in
Central Park. |
|
GREG ROSBOROUGH creative director
|
|
Greg was born in lowa City, but grew up on the sun-drenched
basketball courts of Tucson, Arizona (he's 6'5"!). After earning a degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of
Arizona and launching Ugallery, Greg moved to New York to study Menswear Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
He now works as both a designer at Ralph Lauren in New York City and as the Creative Director at Ugallery, driving the site's
simple, crisp aesthetic. |
|
BAILEY RICHARDSON assistant gallery director
|
|
Bailey was born and raised in Los Gatos, in the heart of the Silicon Valley. While studying and playing
field hockey at Stanford University, she fell in love with art history. Her favourite art memory is visiting the private home of prolific Bay Area modern
art collectors Harry and Mary Margaret Anderson, where there is so much art that Frank Stella sketches adorn the refrigerator and Jackson Pollocks hang
in the kid's bedrooms. After graduating, Bailey moved to San Francisco and worked for the SFMOMA's Marketing Department. Now at Ugallery, Bailey gets
to write about art all day which she calls "an absolute dream job." |

ASKA STURDEVAN gallery administrator
|
|
Aska grew up in Southern California, where she was surrounded by creative and artistic friends and family. Unfortunately, none of these skills rubbed off on her--despite her best efforts--but she still has a great admiration and appreciation for art in its many forms (film and photography being favorites). After leaving the country for a couple years, she decided to make her way back to the Bay Area, where she went to school. Interests include traveling and doing most anything outside (as indicated by this photo of one of her favorite places: Dogon Country, Mali). Aska is thrilled to be part of such a dynamic company, and excited to be surrounded by art every single day!
