My paintings are influenced by my interest in how intuition affects possibility and chance. I do not manipulate my media as it evolves, just as I cannot control inevitability in life.
In the Ice series, ice is left to melt over beads of paint. The canvas is prepared to both absorb the media enough to stain it, and to repel the water enough for it to pool and evaporate. The resulting imagery consists of mysterious marks of color that interact with one another spontaneously. The preliminary areas of raw paint are intuitively placed on the primed canvas, many times following my inclination toward what I call the "totem pole" format, which is vertical and linear. Since ice is a main contributor to the imagery that evolves, resulting shapes are likely to stray from the initial laying of the paint. The unpredictable nature of the ice denotes unforeseen, inevitable change.

I've made some larger pieces using the same methods as "Ice Series" and "Meanderings."

Thank you sincerely. I am going to be working with this concept for the next few months, so some bigger & more dynamic pieces will follow the initial ice series. I appreciate your support :)

Kaylie,
I just ordered Ice 1 & 2, and I am so excited. My first Ugallery purchase. I am so bummed though cause I really wanted to get #9 as well. Let me know if you ever do any more ice in a larger format- I love it!

Please make more paintings like the Giraffe. It has so much character and contrast and innocence. I love throwing in mixed media with my paintings

We liked the stuff you did that we got, the 2 pieces, and if you do anything more like that, definitely interested. Would like a bit bigger - okay, a lot bigger. Vibrant stuff, but want to be able to display it in our main rooms.
