I enjoy candid portraiture. It is the best way to capture personality. I also like to explore subject matter that sparks emotion with underlying themes and meaning. I greatly value the ability to subtly provoke thoughts and feelings in a viewer.
My artwork is an expression of the issues and ideas that are on my mind while I am creating a piece. As a result, my motivation as an artist varies with my state of mind. I am constantly pursuing new avenues with my art to reflect changing perceptions of the world around me.
I grew up with a strong desire to create art. My father instilled in me his intense passion for photography and his knowledge of art. I am also influenced by the art of Annie Leibovitz, Mitch Epstein, Alec Soth, and Ansel Adams.
